Power
What charger power for your car?
The right power depends on your supply, your car and your journeys. Most people charge overnight: there's no point oversizing.
7.4 kW – single-phase
The most commonThe most widespread solution in houses. One night of charging easily covers most drivers' daily journeys.
- Works with a single-phase supply
- Installation cost under control
- Ideal for overnight charging
11 kW – three-phase
For a suitable three-phase supply and a car that accepts this power on AC. Faster charging.
- Suitable three-phase supply required
- Load spread over the three phases
- Power accepted by the car to be checked
22 kW
Only for installations whose supply allows it and cars that can use it: rare in homes, more common for businesses.
- High-power supply required
- Few cars charge at 22 kW on AC
- A survey beforehand is essential
Making the right choice
3×230 V supply: a Brussels peculiarity
Many Brussels homes are supplied at 3×230 V (three-phase without neutral), not 3N400 V. Not all chargers and cars behave the same way on this type of network: some limit the charging power.
Before recommending a model, we check your type of supply, the power available at the meter and the capacity of your fuse box. If you need more power, it is requested from the network operator (Sibelga in Brussels): we tell you how.

For most people, a 7.4 kW charger is enough to charge overnight. 11 kW only makes sense with a suitable three-phase supply and a car that accepts that power. We advise you after seeing your installation.
That's the first thing we check: type of network (single-phase, 3×230 V or 3N400 V), power at the meter and capacity of the fuse box. If you need more power, it is requested from the network operator.
In principle, yes: the charger is fed by a new circuit, which must undergo a compliance inspection by an approved body. We prepare the documents needed.
Yes, with the agreement of the co-owners and a study of the shared supply. We also work with property managers: see our services for co-owned buildings.
As a stopgap, yes, but slowly, and by putting strain on a socket that isn't designed for hours of high-current charging. For daily use, a charger on a dedicated circuit is much safer.
It depends on the model, the distance between the fuse box and the charger, and any changes needed to the fuse box. We draw up a free, detailed quote within 24 hours.
